How a Telehealth Visit Works
Step 1
Schedule and ask
Call (727) 820-7800 and tell us you would prefer a virtual visit. Our staff will confirm that your concern suits telehealth, or suggest an in-person visit if it does not.
Step 2
Prepare
Have your medications, home readings, and questions ready, and make sure you will be somewhere private in Florida at the visit time. Check your device's camera and sound beforehand.
Step 3
Meet your provider
Your visit covers the same ground as an office follow-up: what has changed, what the numbers show, and what to adjust. Prescriptions can be sent to your pharmacy when appropriate.
Step 4
Follow up
Lab orders, results, and messages come through the patient portal. See using the patient portal. If you need an exam or tests, we will book an in-person visit.
Telehealth is not for emergencies

Do you offer telehealth visits in St. Petersburg?
Yes. Many primary care follow-ups and minor concerns can be handled by a secure video visit with our team. Let our staff know you would prefer a virtual visit when you schedule, and we will tell you whether your concern is a good fit for telehealth.
Can I have a telehealth visit while I am out of Florida?
Usually not. Doctors are licensed by state, and the visit is considered to take place where you are physically located. Our clinicians are licensed in Florida, so you generally need to be in Florida at the time of a telehealth visit. Snowbirds should plan follow-ups for the months they are here.
Does Medicare cover telehealth visits?
Yes. According to Medicare.gov, through December 31, 2027, Medicare covers telehealth services you receive from anywhere in the U.S., including your home. Your usual Part B costs apply. Medicare Advantage and private plans set their own telehealth rules, so check your plan.
What can be handled by telehealth?
Common examples include medication checks and adjustments, reviewing lab results, following up on blood pressure or blood sugar using your home readings, mental health follow-ups, and many minor concerns. Anything that needs a hands-on exam, a test in the office, or a vaccine needs an in-person visit.
Can you prescribe medication during a telehealth visit?
Often, yes, including refills and adjustments of many common medications. Some medications, including many controlled substances, have additional state and federal rules for telehealth prescribing and may require an in-person visit. We will let you know if that applies.
